Removed in 4 steps

How do you remove the magnet from the wall without damaging the paint? Whether you're moving or just have a new spot in mind for your vases, sometimes you just want to remove the magnet. With the following steps, you can do this quickly and easily.

Whether you can remove the sticky magnet without damaging the wall depends on the condition of the surface and how carefully you remove it.

STEP 1

Use strong thread

Wrap the ends around your fingers to get a good grip. Don’t have thread at home? You can also use dental floss! We don't recommend using fishing line as it sticks to the tape.

STEP 2

Floss the magnet off the wall

Place the thread behind the magnet and move it carefully back and forth. It's important to cut through the tape with the thread, rather than trying to pull the magnet off with force.

STEP 3

Press the magnet against the wall

When you're halfway through, press the top of the magnet lightly back against the wall. This prevents the magnet from moving too much as you work your way down.

STEP 4

Rub the tape off the wall

The best way is to rub the tape diagonally off the wall. Be careful here too, and take your time for the best result.
